Lithuanian Energy holding to buy third of gas from Russia's Gazprom next year

VILNIUS – Lithuania's energy holding Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy) and Russia's gas giant Gazprom have agreed on gas supplies in 2017. The new contract with Gazprom was signed after a long-term contract expired at the end of 2015, and Lietuvos Energija bought small amounts of gas from the Russian concern in gas auctions this year. The group will next year buy 34 percent of gas purchased by Lietuvos Energija's companies, LE said.
