MONACO – In a ceremony reflecting the warmth and strength of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Lithuania and the Principality of Monaco, H.E. Arnoldas Pranckevičius, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania, presented his Letters of Credence to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.
The formal presentation took place at the Prince’s Palace in Monaco, in an atmosphere described as particularly cordial and respectful. Both parties reaffirmed the importance of ongoing cooperation in areas of shared interest, such as climate action, green innovation, cultural exchange, and regional stability.
Ambassador Pranckevičius, a diplomat and former Permanent Representative of Lithuania to France, expressed his honor at representing Lithuania in the Principality and emphasized the symbolic significance of the ceremony. “This is not only a diplomatic formality but also a reaffirmation of our shared values and mutual respect,” he said.
Prince Albert II welcomed the Ambassador warmly, noting the excellent relationship between the two countries and expressing interest in further developing bilateral and multilateral initiatives, particularly in light of the current geopolitical context in Europe.
The ceremony comes at a time of increased diplomatic engagement by Lithuania in the broader European and Mediterranean regions. Establishing deeper relations with Monaco aligns with Lithuania’s strategic aim of strengthening ties with likeminded nations committed to sustainability, international cooperation, and regional security.
Following the presentation, discussions touched on opportunities for enhanced collaboration in scientific research, maritime affairs, and cultural diplomacy, all areas where Monaco has been particularly active under the leadership of Prince Albert II.
This latest step marks a promising chapter in the evolving partnership between Lithuania and Monaco — one grounded in mutual trust, shared values, and a vision for a more connected and cooperative Europe.
