Latvian foreign minister, representatives of US Jewish organizations agree on continuing cooperation

RIGA - On September 21, during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Latvian Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) met with representatives from Jewish organizations in the United States, LETA learned from the Foreign Ministry.

At the meeting, the foreign minister underlined the close bilateral and transatlantic links between Latvia and the United States; he noted in particular the contribution by the US to the security of the Baltic states.

The foreign minister also accented Latvia’s perspective on the war waged by Russia against Ukraine and the need to continue providing support to Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor Russia.

The conversation partners highlighted the excellent cooperation between the state of Latvia, Latvia’s Jewish community and Jewish organizations in the US on a wide spectrum of topics – cooperation that will be further pursued in the future.
