French minister for Europe and foreign affairs to arrive in Latvia

RIGA - French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna is due to arrive in Latvia on a visit today, LETA was told at the Latvian Foreign Ministry.

During the visit, the French minister will discuss with Latvian officials the two countries' bilateral relations, cooperation in strategic partnership areas and in international organization, a well as exchange opinions on the situation in the region and international situation in general.

In Latvia, the French minister is scheduled to meet with President Edgars Rinkevics, Prime Minister Evika Silina (New Unity) and acting Foreign Minister Arvils Aseradens (New Unity).

Colonna and Aseradens will sign the Action Plan for the Latvia-France Strategic Partnership, 2023-2027.

The French minister will attend the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia and lay flowers by the Freedom Monument. During her visit, she will also learn about the Rail Baltica railway project.
