TALLINN – Estonian swimmer Eneli Jefimova won the gold medal in the women's 100-meter breaststroke at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Otopeni, Romania, on Wednesday evening.
Jefimova completed the distance in 1:03.21. Her title is the first European championship in the history of Estonian swimming.
In the preliminaries on Tuesday morning, Jefimova completed the distance with a time of 1:04.28, with which she advanced to the semi-finals with the best result. She entered the race again in the second semi-final the same day, which she won with 1:04.03, but was second in the two semi-finals combined.
