RIGA - Latvia’s Economy Ministry has decided it now supports a modest increase of Latvia’s miniscule minimum wage from 360 euros a month to 375 euros a month.
As the saying goes, something is better than nothing.
But that’s a saying which Latvia’s Welfare ministry strongly disagrees with. The Welfare Ministry believes the minimum wage ought to be increased by just 7 euros, or not increased at all, according to its report on minimum wages in 2016.
