RIGA - On November 3, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics met with Aigars Rostovskis, President of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), and Janis Endzins, Chairman of the Board, in the Riga Castle to discuss issues of topical interest to entrepreneurs.

The president's spokesman Martins Dregeris said that during the meeting, Rinkevics discussed with the representatives of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry the five challenges raised by the organization - excessive bureaucracy, lack of access to finance, labor shortage, the need for an energy strategy, as well as possible improvements to the tax system.

"There are undeniably important challenges and unfinished "homework" on the state side to ensure the preconditions for reaching the average European level of prosperity. But business has an equally important role to play. Talking about problems in the abstract will not lead to concrete solutions. The Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a good platform for concrete proposals, and businesses should actively use it," said Rinkevics.
