Baltic PMs to discuss security situation, sanctions against Russia in Vilnius

VILNIUS - Prime Ministers Ingrida Simonyte of Lithuania, Evika Silina of Latvia and Kaja Kallas of Estonia are meeting in Vilnius on Monday to discuss the security situation, support for Ukraine and sanctions against Russia.

The meeting comes as Lithuania takes over the presidency of the Baltic Council of Ministers.

The talks will focus on security and defense, support to Ukraine and preparations for the NATO Summit in Washington, D.C.

Other topics include sanctions against Russia, joint Baltic energy and infrastructure projects, the EU agenda and other topical issues of trilateral cooperation.

The Baltic Council of Ministers, the coordinating body for cooperation among the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian governments, was established in Tallinn in 1994.
