VILNIUS – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis is paying a visit to the United States to meet with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and visit Sikorsky Aircraft's factory.

In Washington, D.C., Lithuania's top diplomat and his Lithuanian and Estonian counterparts will meet with Blinken "to discuss regional security issues, the continuity of assistance to Ukraine and the upcoming NATO Summit in Washington, D.C.," the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.

Landsbergis will later travel to Connecticut to visit Sikorsky Aircraft, a Lockheed Martin company which produces UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters for Lithuania, and will then head to Pennsylvania to meet with Governor Josh Shapiro and participate in an academic discussion on security policy challenges at Gettysburg College.

The foreign minister will also meet with US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt M. Campbell to discuss "Lithuania-US cooperation on Indo-Pacific issues".

Landsbergis last visited Washington, D.C. and met with Blinken in March 2023.

The US is a key security partner for the Baltic region and one of Lithuania's main partners in defense acquisitions.

The US is Lithuania's fourth-largest foreign trade partner, with bilateral trade worth 4.8 billion euros in 2023.
