Asradens to attend annual meetings of IMF and WB Group in Washington

RIGA - Finance Minister Arvils Aseradens (New Unity) is today participating in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) Group in Washington, D.C., the minister's advisor Lasma Trofimova informed LETA. 

The spring meeting of the the Boards of Governors of the IMF and WB Group will take place until April 21. 

As LETA was told at the Finance Ministry, the This year, the WB Group's Development Committee will consider a report on the implementation of the WB Group's development reform, adapting its operations to the growing needs of climate change and informing on the next steps to improve the group's operational and financial model, as well as the actions taken since the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in October 2023 in Marrakech.

The IMF's International Monetary and Financial Committee will discuss how to ensure the resilience of the global economy, restore growth and how to adjust targeted IMF support to the changing needs of member states.

Aseradens is the Latvian Member of the Board of Governor at the World Bank Group.
