RIGA - The XVII West Coast Latvian Song and Dance Festival will take place next year from July 1 to 5 in Seattle, US, Egija Claire, a representative of the event's organizers, informed LETA.
Since 1962, when the first festival was held in Seattle, it has brought Latvians together in various Pacific Coast cities and has become a tradition and a symbol of community.
In 2027, the festival will celebrate its 65th anniversary and will include a sacred music concert and church service, a festival exhibition and fair, a masterclass at the University of Washington, as well as a parade and dance party.
The festival will also include a children's program and concert, a stage performance, a folk dance show, a grand choral concert, and a closing ball.
