VILNIUS – The XI World Lithuanian Sports Games, which had been scheduled to take place this July, have been moved to next year due to the pandemic and will take place in the southern city of Druskininkai on July 14-17, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport said.
"We all hope we will live, plan and travel more easily and calmly next year, and the games will be attended by as many our nationals from across the whole world as possible," Vice Minister Linas Obcarskas was quoted as saying in a statement.
He leads a special organization group set up under the prime minister's order.
The X World Lithuanian Sports Games took place in Kaunas in 2017 and attracted more than 3,800 participants, including over 2,600 Lithuanian nationals living in 26 foreign countries.
