RIGA - Latvian law enforcement and security institutions will be preparing very seriously for May 9 once again this year, Minister of Interior Rihards Kozlovskis (New Unity) told Latvian Television this morning.
He has discussed the current security situation with the leadership of the State Police and the State Security Service. "We do not have any precise indications of provocations, but the situation may change, so we will prepare very seriously," the minister promised.
Kozlosvkis added that as May 9 approached, public security measures could be changed and stepped up until the last minute.
