Wallester, a leading European fintech and licensed Visa Principal Member, has officially opened its new headquarters in the Golden Gate building in Tallinn. The move marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth and reaffirms its long-term commitment to Estonia’s fintech ecosystem.
Founded in Tallinn in 2016, Wallester has grown from a local startup into a trusted financial technology partner serving businesses across Europe. Its all-in-one platforms – Wallester White-Label and Wallester Business – enable companies to issue Visa cards, manage expenses in real time, and build embedded financial services at scale.
“Tallinn has always been central to Wallester’s success; it remains the foundation of our team, our innovation, and our long-term vision,” said Sergei Astafjev, Co-Founder and CEO of Wallester. “Relocating to the Golden Gate building reflects the scale of our growth and our continued commitment to building from Estonia for the world. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this journey and to the achievements that brought us here.”
Gala event at Golden Gate
The opening was marked with an evening gala held inside the Golden Gate building, bringing together key partners, clients, and industry leaders for a celebration of Wallester’s next stage of growth. The event opened at 5 pm with guest arrivals and a curated culinary experience designed to showcase some of Estonia’s top talent. Executive Chef Erik Prosvirin prepared a selection of gourmet dishes crafted specifically for the occasion, while Anti Leppik, world champion oyster-shucker, presented an exclusive tasting that became one of the standout moments of the reception.
At 6 pm, guests gathered for the official opening ceremony, where Wallester’s leadership highlighted the significance of the new headquarters and the company’s ambition to continue scaling globally from Estonia. Representatives from Visa, Amazon Web Services, Holm Bank, Placet Group, Finance Estonia, EIS and e-Residency joined long-time clients and collaborators in marking the milestone.
The evening continued with a live dessert presentation at 7 pm, where master chefs prepared Pavlova on site, adding a theatrical touch to the culinary programme. From 8 pm onward, the event transitioned into an evening lounge, where guests could network, explore the new workspace, and celebrate Wallester’s achievements in a more relaxed setting. The atmosphere reflected the company’s culture, ambitious, collaborative, and firmly rooted in Estonia’s fast-moving fintech landscape.
