Visa-free stay conditions in the Kingdom of Thailand to change

TALLINN – The conditions for visa-free stays in the Kingdom of Thailand will change starting September 15.

According to the new regulation, citizens of 60 countries and territories, including Estonia, can stay in the Kingdom of Thailand for tourism purposes visa-free for up to 30 days.

While in the country, it is possible to apply for a one-time 30-day extension from the competent Thai authorities. The new rules also permit entry into the Kingdom of Thailand via land border crossings twice per calendar year.

For Estonian citizens who enter the country before September 15, the previous 60-day visa-free period still applies.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises travelers to purchase travel insurance before their trip and to plan their travels to ensure they have sufficient funds for their departure and return journey.

All foreigners traveling to Thailand must fill out a digital arrival card (Thailand Digital Arrival Card – TDAC) before their trip. For additional information on visa issues, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends contacting the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Helsinki.
