On May 28, the sixth game of the Latvian Basketball League (LBL) finals ended in style for VEF Riga, as they saw off the challenge from Ventspils to win 71:63.
With the win, VEF Riga won the best-of-seven finals series 4-2 and has regained the national title from Ventspils.
This is the fourth LBL title for VEF Riga, who also triumphed in 2011, 2012 and 2013 as well.
These two teams have been battling it out in the LBL finals for the past five years, with “VEF Riga” winning four titles and “Ventspils” winning just the one - last season.
