VILNIUS - In response to clerical sexual abuse cases, the Roman Catholic Church is ready to punish offenders more severely and to revise some canonical norms, Vilnius Archbishop Gintaras Grusas said on Monday.
Speaking on his return from a global summit on clerical sexual abuse, Grusas said Pope Francis will shortly issue a motu proprio, a papal document, aimed at stepping up the prevention of such crimes in the Roman Curia and the Vatican.
