Keith Shannon has been the British Ambassador to Latvia since June.  He started his Diplomatic Service career in 1988, and has more recently been Deputy Director of the Eastern European and Central Asian Directorate, based at the Foreign Office in London.  Previously he has been Deputy Head of Mission in Lithuania and Ambassador in Moldova.
