RIGA - The tragic accident with three deaths in Tukums municipality on Sunday occurred when a passenger car entered the opposite lane and collided with a truck, according to information available to the State Police.
The police explained that five vehicles were involved in the accident on the Ventspils motorway.
Initial information suggests that the driver of the Toyota failed to control the vehicle and drove into the opposite lane, causing a collision with a Volvo truck. Three persons in a Toyota Hilux were killed.
Three other cars then collided.
The police have opened criminal proceedings.
