Three people die due to flu in Estonia

TALLINN – Incidence of flu has grown recently in Estonia and the first deaths of the season have been registered as three people have lost their life due to flu, the Health Board said.

Last week 4,560 persons turned to a doctor due to having flu-like symptoms and 49 percent of them were children. The total number of people who turned to a doctor increased 5 percent in a week and the incidence of flu-like diseases doubled compared with the previous week. The biggest share of people who have caught flu are 5-year-old or younger children.

According to the E-Health Foundation 70 patients have been hospitalized since the start of the season, of whom 50 needed hospital treatment last week.
