RIGA - The prosecutor's office has charged three men with hiding a car used in the murder of football agent Romans Bezzubovs.

Taking into account that pre-trial investigation in the case is still ongoing, the prosecutor's office offered no further comment.

The Criminal Law stipulates that a person convicted of concealment of instrumentalities or means for committing a crime or trail of a crime may be sentenced to temporary deprivation of liberty, community service or a fine.

The proceedings against the three Latvian nationals born in 1982, 1983 and 1991 were separated from the main murder case in December 2021.

The prosecutor's office also declined to say when the main murder case will be sent to court because it is impossible to predict when Russia will extradite two men wanted in Latvia in connection with the murder. A total of six persons were charged in the case at the beginning of 2022.

As reported, Bezzubovs was murdered on April 14 in the Riga suburb of Purvciems.

A video surveillance camera record obtained by LETA shows that the attack took about 20 seconds. Bezzubovs, driving a Volkswagen Touareg, was about to pull out on Astras Street when a black BMW X5 blocked his way. Shots were fired from the attackers' car, after which Bezzubovs' automobile rammed the BMW and both vehicles moved out of the surveillance camera's view.

The black BMW was later found burned in a forested areas near Mezaparks.
