RIGA - Latvia has ideas on how to work with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to develop the Rail Baltica railway project, border regions and new financial solutions for security and entrepreneurs, Prime Minister Evika Silina (New Unity) said on Thursday after a meeting with the new EIB Vice-President, Karl Nehammer.

In her meeting with Nehammer, Silina congratulated him to his new position and thanked him for the EIB's increasingly active presence in Latvia.

The Prime Minister noted that this year the EIB has opened an office in Riga and invested more than EUR 330 million in various infrastructure projects and financed the preparation of public-private partnership projects in the areas of affordable housing and protection.

Silina also highlights that the EIB is not just a lending bank - it invests in knowledge and resilience, changing with the times.
