TALLINN - Ten Estonian artists and writers will be given an annual salary for three years by the government under a new scheme to encourage the arts and bring “precious creations” to light.
The Estonian Ministry of Culture announced the pilot project last Friday, which was scheduled to be officially launched at a press conference on Monday, and a call for applications was to be made.
Those selected will receive payments from 2016 onwards and the ministry has allocated 160,000 euros to the project, ERR News reported.
