KYIV - Leaked Pentagon documents suggest that the UK deployed 50 special forces to Ukraine in February, The Guardian reports.

The newspaper indicates that one of the leaked documents, labelled as secret, contains updates about the special forces' activities in Ukraine, even though officially NATO countries are not involved in the war.

A document dated March 23 says that 17 Latvian soldiers, 15 French servicemen, 14 Americans and one Dutch are in Ukraine along with 50 British troops.

The document does not say where exactly these troops have been deployed and what tasks they have been performing in Ukraine.

The UK Ministry of Defence has declined comments on the report, The Guardian says.
