Rinkevics thanked teachers for their contribution and highlighted the importance of schools as a safe and inspiring place for children, the President's Chancery informed LETA.
Speaking about the role of parents, the president wished them strength and willingness to engage in school life. He also wished teachers to maintain strength and fulfillment in their daily work.
"I wish you to go to work with confidence, composure, and a little spark of pleasant excitement. And to leave the school with satisfaction, pride, and the feeling of a job well done," said the president.
As reported, World Teachers' Day was celebrated for the first time in Latvia last year on October 5.
Before that, the law stipulated that Teachers' Day would be celebrated on the first Sunday in October.
