Russian pensions to be paid into recipients' accounts in Latvia by end of August - Welfare Ministry

RIGA - Russian pensions will be transferred into recipients' accounts in Latvia by the end of August, Welfare Ministry official Sandra Stabina informed LETA. 

She indicated that Russia has so far been meeting its obligations under the social security agreement, so there are no indications that the pensions could be withheld. The agreement in question is effective since January 19, 2011. 

According to the social security agreement with Latvia, Russia is expected to transfer the money to recipients of Russian pensions in Latvia by the end of the second month of the quarter (the end of August).

Meanwhile, the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) said on the social networks that the next payout of Russian pensions is scheduled for September. The matter, however, is not in the agency's area of competence.
