VILNIUS – The 12th Free Russia Forum, the largest platform for the Russian opposition, is getting underway in Vilnius on Friday, on the eve of the second anniversary of Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Participants of the two-day event include Russian politicians and human rights activists Garry Kasparov, Ilya Ponomariov, Violeta Grudina, Rostislav Pavlishev, Ivan Tyutrin, Dmitry Nekrasov, journalist Yevgeniy Kiselev, experts and other Russian public figures.

Discussions are expected to cover topics such as human rights protection during times of conflict, unity within the Russian opposition on the issue of the conflict, the economic situation during wartime, the crisis in the international security system, the perpetual war as a form of Vladimir Putin's regime existence, support for Ukraine, and other issues.

The forum takes place as the Russian opposition vows to continue its fight against Putin despite the death of Alexei Navalny, one of its most influential figures, in an Arctic prison last week.
