Roslikovs, Slesers and Rinkevics receive highest support from voters in percentage terms

RIGA - In the 14th Saeima elections, which took place last Saturday, Aleksejs Roslikovs of For Stability, Ainars Slesers of Latvia First and Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics of New Unity received the highest percentage of endorsements from voters who cast their ballots for the respective electoral lists, according to LETA's estimates. 

Roslikovs ran in the elections on the For Stability ticket in the Riga electoral district. Of the 27,172 voters in Riga who voted for this party, 19,428 people, or 71.5 percent, endorsed Roslikovs with a 'plus' mark opposite his name on the ballot paper. 

Slesers emerged as the second most popular candidate, with 16, 606 out of the 25,518 citizens who voted for Latvia First in Riga, or 65.1 percent, endorsed his candidacy. 

Meanwhile, Rinkevics received the third highest percentage of endorsements, as 35,072 out of the 61,137 people who voted for New Unity in Riga, or 57.4 percent, have him the 'plus' mark. Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins who ran on the New Unity List in the Vidzeme electoral district, received 35,013 endorsements, or 56.9 percent of the 61,485 votes cast in Vidzeme for New Unity party.
