Rinkevics to welcome to Riga minister of state for foreign affairs, international cooperation and communities of Guinea-Bissau

RIGA - On February 8, in Riga, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (New Unity) will welcome an official visit from the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Suzi Carla Barbosa, LETA learned from the Latvian Foreign Ministry.

The Ministers of the two countries intend to discuss bilateral relations, cooperation between the European Union and the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, as well as security challenges both in Africa and in relation to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

As part of her visit on February 6-9, Barboza is to meet with the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, and the Speaker of the Saeima (the Latvian Parliament), Eduards Smiltens (United List). The Bissau-Guinean Foreign Minister will also be given a tour of the national Library of Latvia and get acquainted with the work of Riga Technical University.
