RIGA - Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics on Monday will participate in the NATO Eastern Flank and Nordic Summit (B9) in Vilnius, Lithuania, LETA was told at the president's office.
According to information on NATO's website, the summit, hosted by Lithuanian President Gitanos Nauseda, will also be attended by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
As LETA reported, the B9 includes nine NATO Eastern Flank countries - Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. The B9 format was created in 2015 in response to Russia's aggression in Ukraine's Crimea in 2014.
