RIGA - The Riga City Council on December 6 awarded Riga's best companies, LETA learned from the Riga Investments and Tourism Agency.
Awards were presented to Riga's best companies in six priority sectors - a startup, a global business service center, information and communication technologies, real estate, biomedicine and manufacturing with high added value.
Riga Business Award in the startup sector was presented to Aerones; Business Award in global business service centers sector - to SEB Global Services; the award in ICT sector - to Accenture; the award in real estate sector - to Bonava Latvija; the award in biomedicine sector - to Cellbox Labs; the award in sector of manufacturing with high added value - to SAF Tehnika.
"These six companies serve as an example and inspiration for rigans. Their ambitions, skills and the output create a significant contribution to the city's development. Riga is a good place for new ideas and safe investments," said Riga Mayor Vilnis Kirsis.
The winners of the award were selected by the Riga Investors Advisory Council. The companies have been nominated for the award in line with the criteria by the associations of the respective sectors - Latvia's Startup Association Startin.lv, Latvia's Global Business Service Centers Association ABLS Latvia, Latvia's Information and Communication Technologies Association (LIKTA), Alliance of Real Estate Developers (NIAA), Latvian Association of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry (LAKIFA), Latvian Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry Association (LETERA).
