Today, RIX Riga Airport signed a cooperation memorandum with the Aviation Academy of South Korea’s Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC), one of the leading aviation training centres in the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership marks a significant step in implementing the development strategy of Riga Airport’s training centre, RIX Academy, to enhance its global visibility and attract a broader range of trainees.
Chairperson of the Board of Riga Airport Ms. Laila Odiņa: “This memorandum is a strategic step that will enable us to reinforce international cooperation and offer training programmes of the highest quality. By combining the European-standard expertise and experience of RIX Academy — an Airports Council International (ACI) accredited training centre — with the competencies of the Incheon Aviation Academy, we will gain new opportunities to export our knowledge to external markets and attract clients on a global scale.”
The memorandum provides for extensive cooperation, including the joint development and implementation of new training programmes and courses, instructor exchanges and competency development, the promotion of training activities, and collaboration in the field of human resource development.
About RIX Academy
RIX Academy is the training centre of Riga Airport, offering professional aviation training. The centre provides more than 160 training programmes in aviation security, ground handling, airfield operations, crisis management, and other aviation fields. Each year, RIX Academy trains more than 15,000 specialists from Latvia and abroad. Since 2017, RIX Academy has been an Airports Council International (ACI) accredited training centre, offering internationally recognized courses and tailor-made training solutions for various companies. In 2023, RIX Academy joined the family of ACI Accredited Training Partners.
