Riga Airport’s ground handling provider, RIX Ground Handling, has been honoured with Ryanair’s award in the category “Best Customer Service Team 2025.” This is a significant achievement for Riga Airport, as RIX is the only airport in Eastern Europe to receive this title among 44 Ryanair airports in the region, including 13 base airports.
The “Ryanair On Time Performance Awards” is an important industry recognition based on punctuality indicators – a critical measure of quality and efficiency for airports and airlines. The category “Best ASP Front of House Staff” specifically highlights excellence in customer service and operational performance.
Considering that Ryanair is Europe’s largest low-cost carrier and competition among Eastern European airports is extremely high, this recognition demonstrates the professionalism and international acknowledgement of the RIX GH team. In Ryanair’s evaluation, performance indicators such as timely opening and closing of departure gates, hand luggage screening and payment processing, handling of arriving and departing baggage, preparation of flight documentation, aircraft readiness for departure, and overall turnaround time are considered.
