RIGA - The reconstruction of Vansu (Suspension) Bridge will cost EUR 69,802,998, according to information published in the Electronic Procurement System.
The municipality has chosen the supplier association Vansu Tilts as the winner of the tender on Vansu Bridge reconstruction, design and supervision. The association includes Hanza Construction Group, Tilts and Baltic artificial structures design bureau Vektors T.
Riga Mayor Viesturs Kleinbergs (Progressives) pointed out that this time the offer is significantly better.
"The new contract is worth EUR 69.8 million, while last year the only bid submitted was almost EUR 100 million, which is why the tender was cancelled," reminded the mayor.
As reported, two bidders applied for the tender to rebuild the bridge.
Vansu Tilts association of suppliers submitted a bid for EUR 69,802,998.
Meanwhile, association BBVA, which includes Baltijas Buve, Abora, Latvian-Lithuanian joint venture Viadukts and general partnership 3A, offered to reconstruct the bridge for EUR 70,327,026.
The first tender for the bridge's reconstruction, organized last year, was cancelled because only one tenderer applied, whose offer exceeded the financial possibilities of Riga City Council.
In the light of the result of the first tender, the requirements of the open tender regulations were revised and clarified in order to encourage more interest from bidders and ensure greater competition.
Riga has a total of 145 bridges, overpasses and pedestrian tunnels. Some of them are in needs of repair.
