TALLINN – In line with tradition, the State Electoral Office of Estonia will on Monday open the environment of online voting to public testing.

Starting from 9 a.m. on Dec. 17, all eligible voters can submit their Christmas wish on the web page at www.valimised.ee.

To file their wish, users must go through the same procedure as during online voting, which enables prospective voters to make sure that their computer and electronic ID are functional and ready for casting a vote next spring's elections, the State Electoral Office said on social media.

As a novelty, voters can use a search function to look up their desired gift. Besides, it will be no longer necessary to scroll down the entire list as the environment will display categories, equal to political parties in the elections, which can be opened by clicking on the name of the category.

For security reasons, voters using Mobile-ID will be asked to enter also their personal identification code, in addition to their telephone number.

The possibility of test online voting will be available until 6 p.m. on Dec. 20.
