President: Latvian border must not become new migrant route to Europe

RIGA - Efforts have to be made to ensure that the Latvian national border does not become a new route to Europe for migrants, Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis said, calling for further efforts to strengthen the national security and to reinforce the country’s eastern border. During the weekly meeting with Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis (Greens/Farmers), Vejonis said that Latvia, while working on further solutions to the migration crisis and making a solidary contribution to security in the EU, should not forget about its obligation to reinforce the national border...
