Ostapenko through to second round of Zhengzhou WTA

ZHENGZHOU (China) - Today, Latvia's second-best ranked lady tennis player Alona Ostapenko defeated China's Xiaodi You 6-3, 0-6, 6-2 in the opening round of the Zhengzhou WTA Premier series tennis tournament.

At the moment, Ostapenko is ranked 75th in the WTA rankings, while You is ranked 246th.

Ostapenko has earned 55 WTA ranking points for advancing to the second round of the Zhengzhou tournament, where she will take on word number 13 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.
