What happened in Germany on New Year’s Eve was terrible.  A mob attacking a much smaller group of women, with groping, robbery and, apparently, one case of rape.  Readers of The Baltic Times will know that the men were described in the media as appearing to be “North African or Middle Eastern,” though since then it has become clear that they were of a variety of origins in terms of nationality and, crucially, the vast majority of them were not recent refugees or asylum seekers.
