I am writing in support of the wonderful Lestene cemetery in Kurzeme. I think it is a beautiful and fitting memorial that should be held in as high honor as the "Brivibas Piemineklis" [Freedom Monument]. When I read The Baltic Times article ("Legionnaire cemetery causes uproar" in #380) I was infuriated! Apparently siding with the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Israeli ambassador is "hardly satisfied" with the opening of the Lestene cemetery. Big deal! How dare the Simon Wiesenthal Center criticize memorials that are none of their business! Let them build their concrete walls and leave Latvi...
