A self-proclaimed workaholic, Ingrida Udre has been on the ball long before she entered politics in 1998. Now speaker of the eighth Saeima (Latvia's parliament), Udre used to be a professional basketball player by day while studying economics at night. Later, as a certified auditor, she could have become partner of an auditing company although in the end she decided to pursue a life of politics.
