One reason for the opposition of Audrini inhabitants to the installation of the radar near their homes harkens back to a harrowing tragedy suffered by the village last century.In January 1942, 200 - 300 men were publicly shot in the center of Rezekne by Latvian police during the Nazi occupation in World War II.
