One hundred days and counting, and there seems to be no bounds to Lithuania's affinity for its new prime minister, Rolandas Paksas. Even basketball stars, traditionally the most revered of Lithuania's public figures, have reason to be jealous - according to the most recent public opinion poll, Paksas enjoys an approval rating that exceeds 75 percent.Whence the roots of such popularity? Surely, it is partly because people relate to Paksas. He's a fun-loving guy who rides motorcycles and zips around in airplanes.Another cause, perhaps, is Paksas' apparent indifference to his political career....
