Estonia bans hepatitis B vaccine as safety precaution

TALLINNEstonia's Social Affairs Ministry last week scrapped a plan to acquire a hepatitis B vaccine because it contained mercury that could prove harmful to newborn babies.The South Korean-made Euvax-B vaccine that the ministry planned to use is banned in the United States because it contains a mercury compound called tiomersal.
