Lileikis trial interrupted again

VILNIUS - After months of delay caused by physical illness, accused war criminal Aleksandras Lileikis was finally wheeled into court in Vilnius Nov. 5.Lileikis, 91, is accused by the Lithuanian prosecutor general of handing over 75 Jews to the Nazis during his stint as security chief of the pro-German Vilnius Distirct Security outfit during World War II. His lawyer, Algirdas Matuiza, maintains Lileikis is innocent and says there are no facts that prove otherwise.In court last week, Lileikis lasted only about half an hour before fainting and being trasported to a local hospital.
