VILNIUS (BNS) - Austrian financial broker, Kestutis Kupsys, has concluded that the purchaser of Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy) shares is an Austrian, the newspaper Lietuvos rytas reported Aug. 3.

The broker came to this conclusion by analyzing documents submitted to the Lithuanian Securities Commission on investments into the capital market in the first half of this year.

The greatest amount of investments in the first half year were made by Finnish and Austrian investors. The Finnish portion can be explained by the repurchase deal involving Medienos Plausas (Cellulose Fiber) and the Finnish Metsa-Serla.

The source of Austrian capital influx is mysterious, according to the expert. Austrian investments in the first half of this year came to almost 40 million litas ($10 million), reflected on the market by increased demand for certain issues.
