Three Algerians ask for asylum at festival

TALLINN (ETA) - Two members of an Algerian male dance group in Tallinn for the folk festival Baltika have asked immigration officials for asylum and another man has a similar intention, according to Andres Kollist, director of the Estonian Citizenship and Immigration Department.If the request is approved, it will be the first case of asylum being granted in independent Estonia.The asylum seekers have been turned over to the Social Ministry who are organising temporary accommodation for them in Maardu, a small town near Tallinn, "The Immigration Department will consider the asylum request an...
