Ernests Gulbis won his sixth career title at the ATP Nice Open on Sunday, defeating Federico Delbonis (Argentina) 6-1, 7-6 (7:5) in the final match.

Gulbis broke his opponent twice in the first set, but the second set was much more competitive, with both players holding their serve until the tie-break, although both had a few breakpoints but failed to convert.

The tie-break continued much in the same vein, but in the end it was Gulbis who won 7:5 to claim his sixth ATP title.

The victory in Nice is also Gulbis' first trophy on clay.

Gulbis is currently ranked 19th in the ATP rankings, whereas Delbonis is in 45th place.

Gulbis has earned 250 ATP ranking points for winning the Nice Open.
