Lessons need to be learned after tragedy

Latvia is in mourning. Last Thursday evening tragedy struck when the roof of a Maxima store in the Zolitude neighborhood came crashing down on shoppers. The death toll now stands at 54, which includes three rescue workers who rushed to the scene.Reaction has been swift, in efforts to find any more survivors in the rubble, to assist those who came out alive though injured. The country has pulled together to offer assistance and care for the victims’ families.
