Landsbergis calls for probe

VILNIUS (BNS) - The Lithuanian prosecutor general's office has responded to a request by Parliament Chairman Vytautas Landsbergis to investigate allegations in the press saying that he once informed on a classmate to the KGB.Kestutis Betingis, the deputy prosecutor general leading the investigation, told BNS that now his officials are checking the existence of documents referred to in the newspaper by persons who accused the parliamentary chairman of cooperation with the KGB."Right now we do not possess any data allowing confirmation that the allegations are true," the prosecutor said.The d...
