Living better in Latvia?

The time to forget about Latvia’s currency, the lats, has finally arrived. On July 4 European Parliament members voted for Latvia’s membership to the eurozone, with 613 votes for, 67 against, and 29 abstentions. On July 9 EU finance ministers gave the “green light” as well, so Latvia will join eurozone on January 1, 2014.While a referendum on joining the eurozone, if any occur, will have only an advisory basis and would not alter Latvia’s path in joining the eurozone, society seems to still live in an information vacuum.
